A Heartfelt Honour — Galah Magazine Feature
Aerial photography, Fine art photography, Days to Live, Inspiration, Heart Transplant
It’s not every day that your life and art are given a platform as thoughtful and beautifully curated as Galah Magazine. I’m incredibly honoured that the very first article in their latest issue tells a little of my story—and shares five aerial images captured from one of the places that means most to me: Shark Bay.
The feature is called Heartfelt—and, without quoting a word from it, I can tell you this: it holds close the things I care deeply about. The sky. Freedom. Renewal. The threads of legacy. And that quiet, unmistakable moment when the view from above reveals not just land and sea, but something more… something almost spiritual.
These images were taken from 1,500 feet, but their meaning for me is rooted in the journey that brought me here—through years of uncertainty, survival, and the choice to truly live. To now see them printed in the pages of a magazine I admire, among stories that celebrate life in all its raw, rural, and real beauty, is more than I ever expected.
If you get a chance to pick up the latest issue of Galah, I think you’ll feel what I felt—more than just a feature, it’s an invitation. One to see differently, to feel more deeply, and perhaps, to reflect on what it really means to live fully.
With deep gratitude,
:: Rand
P.S. If it speaks to you, please share it. You never know who might need a reminder that life, even on the edge, can be transformed into something meaningful.
Wow, congratulations, Rand!
