Bringing You The Beach Lifestyle

The Beach Lifestyle: an ephemeral mix of surf, laid back culture and a c’est la vie attitude.
Is it attainable? Can you find it in an international city or do you have to head out into the sticks?
Australia has beach lifestyle in abundance. You can find it in big cities like Sydney, or small havens like Byron Bay. But it can shimmer like a mirage - one minute it’s there and the next crowds, cars and egos overwhelm it. It is not something that can be passively enjoyed, you’ve got to put in the work to find the pockets of beach lifestyle that suit you.
For some that’s early morning, before the thundering hordes descend from the hills, for others a stroll on the beach in the evening works too. I personally find by focusing on the vignettes I see with my camera, I’m able to enjoy the beach lifestyle without a care for what else is going on around me.
This essay speaks to that beach lifestyle and all photos were made at Bondi Beach in Sydney.
