A huge low has brought us the biggest swell of the year. Yesterday it was at its peak, but with a southerly wind blowing it was way too wild to try and make sense of. Today the sky has cleared and while the size of the surf hasn't dropped too much, it has cleaned up a lot. I love witnessing the power of the ocean. It makes me feel alive and with a slight winter breeze and the early morning sun it was a pleasure to spend some time down at Bondi Beach this morning.

I lived with Monterey Bay within a stones throw. I remember many a storm bringing enormous breakers like these. I could feel the ground shake when such monsters broke. Nature powerfully reminding us who is in charge.
