Golden Reflections: A Wedding at leaves & fishes
Wedding photography, photo essay, Hunter Valley
On a recent balmy late spring afternoon the Hunter Valley’s leaves & fishes became the backdrop for a momentous celebration. This photo essay captures the magic of my son Tyler's wedding to Hannah, an intimate gathering where love, nature, and artistry intertwined.
The venue, nestled among lush greenery and tranquil waters, mirrored the essence of the day—serene yet vibrant. Guests arrived, their laughter mingling with the gentle rustle of leaves, as the warm air carried the scent of spring blooms.
Every frame reveals the texture of the day: the bride’s gown whispering with each step, my son’s steady gaze as he awaited her arrival, and the tears that glistened in the eyes of family and friends. Moments of quiet joy found their place, too: a child’s giggle as petals scattered, the clink of champagne glasses during heartfelt toasts, and the tender way hands intertwined during their first dance.
Through this essay, I sought to preserve the fleeting magic of the day—the way sunlight dappled the ceremony with understated elegance, the laughter shared over plates of fine cuisine, and the glow of a love story newly begun.
This was more than a wedding to me; it was a moment suspended in time, a celebration of family, resilience, and the beauty of life’s most profound connections. I cannot overstate my happiness at being able to share in their celebration and my gratitude to my heart donor.
Ty and Hannah had an amazing official photographer for the day, but I couldn't help myself as I wanted to capture the event through my own lens as it were.
