I popped down to Melbourne for the opening of Dani Watson’s photography exhibition and couldn’t resist conjuring up a bird to fly me over this great Australian city. It holds a special place in my heart as it was my gateway to Australia: my wife and I spent our first two weeks on the continent in the capital city of the state of Victoria.

The sky was dark and moody when we strapped into the open door helicopter, but as we made our approach towards the city the light improved. The air was completely still and thanks to a very skilled pilot and an understanding flight controller I was able to bring you these bird’s eye views of the city.
