Spaces Between: A Continuing Story of Resilience
Days to Live, creating timeless connections from the Riviera to Miami and beyond!
I'm sharing another image taken beneath the soft winter light of the Italian Riviera. Francesca stands with her hooded parka pulled snugly over her head, bracing against the biting 2-degree chill. The black-and-white photograph, with its faint blueish tinge, reflects the coldness of the moment while highlighting Francesca’s quiet strength and resilience. Her story—a journey of living fully despite the challenges of heart disease—is a reminder of the warmth and courage we carry within, even in life’s coldest seasons.
As Days to Live continues its journey, we leave the frosty Riviera behind for the warmth of Miami this weekend, where we’ll capture more incredible stories of renewal and hope.
Beyond these portraits, we’re also working on two exciting new dimensions to this project. The first is a photobook with the working title Days to Live: Origin, which will combine the evocative portraits and sweeping aerial images that define this project, celebrating both resilience and perspective.
The second is an exploration of composite imagery that delves into the duality of love. This series draws on elements of photography I first began experimenting with two decades ago, while running a photography software company in Silicon Valley. The images in this series will challenge the notion of photography as static, exploring how photos occupy spaces, move through lines of passage, and project themselves into the world—far beyond the single-dimensional framework often presented by platforms like Instagram.
We’ll share more about this series as it evolves, but for now, we’re focused on capturing the beauty of these individual stories and the moments of connection that bring them to life.
Stay with us as Days to Live grows, shifting from the chill of the Riviera to the sun-drenched shores of Miami and beyond. Together, we’re exploring what it truly means to live boldly, fully, and with intention.
