Terrigal Dawn: A Photo Essay
Fine Art, Seascape Photography, Sunrise Photography, Central Coast, Australia, Beach, Ocean, Surf
This photo essay was made at Terrigal Beach on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. I was fortunate to have a high vantage point over the area and made sure I was on point as dawn emerged. The First Nations people named this area Tarragal, which meant 'place of little birds,' and when John Gray settled in the area in 1826 that is what he named his property.
It was a rather emotional trip for me as my parents lived in the area. My father passed in 2017, and my mother passed last year. Rather than being hard to face, it ended up being cathartic. I looked at various places in the area and saw things through their eyes. Memories flooded in and overall I was very glad to have spent some time at Terrigal again.
